How our website follows conventions.
On our website we have several opportunities for the audience to connect with CRUZE.
This is the social networking bar on Ariana Grande's website, which is at the bottom of every page of the website. It links to Facebook, twitter, Instagram, Spotify and has two links to two seemingly different YouTube channels that post her music videos.
This is our homepage, and I have highlighted the social network bar, which is at the top of the page. The official CRUZE twitter feed is also at the side of the page.
This is part of the 'NEWS' tab of our website, and is the 6 most recently added pictures on the CRUZE Instagram page. Social networking allows fans to connect with musicians like never before, and so it is vital to point fans towards an artist's social media accounts, which are usually used to promote products.
This is the competition we included on our website that requires a fan to promote the band on Twitter in order to enter. The reward is also to do with fan interaction, as it allows a fan to meet CRUZE in person.
This is a screenshot from Ariana Grande's website's news tab, which details how her latest music video was 'unlocked' by fans through streaming and saving the song for which the video is for. This shows the artist letting her fans get more content through commitment to the brand.
In our merchandise store we put 6 items , each one in both black and white. The items we chose were based on our target audience, hence why we have items such as phone cases and backpacks used primarily by teenagers/young adults.
Ariana Grande's merchandise store is similarly focused on a younger adult audience with types of branded clothing like leggings and hoodies. The other items are of CDs of Ariana Grande's albums, and specially designed phone cases.
Ariana Grande's website has 8 tabs: Home, News, Music, Tour, videos, photos, shop and BKSTG, an official fansite.
The homepage on Ariana Grande's website is consumed almost entirely by advertisements for merchandise, with half of the page being a banner advertisement for her products. Then below that is the news banner, where most of the articles are about newly released merch. inally below that is the official merchandise store. This makes it clear that this website is primarily intended to sell products to the users.
Our website has 8 tabs: Home, about, music, shop, tour, news, competition and contact.
Our music tab has our music video and our album listed, as since we only have one video and one album it wouldn't have made sense to separate them into different tabs. This tab allows the user to find all of the music created by CRUZE in one place, and is a common feature on all types of music website.
The homepage functions as a central hub to which the more specific pages can be reached, and serves to give the user a taste of the different aspects of the site. Our website does this by having a twitter feed, for news, a link to the competition for interactivity and the newest CRUZE music video to introduce their music.
