Beres 2014: consent is seen in 3 ways
:one: Firstly it was seen as a minimum for sex, meaning that someone can agree to sex that they don’t want, but it could still legally be consensual, multiple men and women in the study defined consent as ‘when the girl doesn’t say no’,
:two: it is a single event during intercourse for example, agreeing to go home with someone. the ‘butt lift’ as consent for penetration, problematic, as consent would need to be continuous and not just a event,
:three: between couples, that consent was not relevant in their relationship
