140 stroke survivors (73 females) with a mean age of 57.7 ± 13.8 years. In the sample, cerebral ischemic stroke was detected in 48 (34.3%) patients, and cerebral haemorrhage was in 11 (7.9%) and could not be determined (indeterminate) in 81 (57.9%) patients. 63 (45.0%) patients had left hemispheric lesions, whereas 77 (55.0%) had affected right hemisphere. In the sample 107 (76.4%) were urban residents.

Our study
Our: 263 patients (183 males, average age = 59.8) with stroke. About half (48%) of the patients were inpatients (onset within 3 months), and the rest were outpatients. Generally, these patients were in the subacute to chronic stages with mild stroke severity (NIHSS = 4.4) and a moderate level of disability (BI = 79.7)
