Social Media
Facebook is a large form of social media that is commonly used by many people. A variety of information and ideas from everywhere around the globe can be shared, and has the power to influence many different things.
Facebook was recently discovered to have advertised fake news, which was supposedly very influential on political matters

Social media can be very addicting, which is why it´s used on such a large scale. It keeps people hooked, so the social media company can make more money.
-
Many many people have access to social media these days, which makes it harder for social media platforms to control what the users see or hear on the site.

Fake News
Many websites or social media platforms advertise fake news, even without knowing it most of the time. Fake news, or even a single piece of information can be dangerous if you can't tell whether or not it's true.
-
People who advertise fake news make more profit when curious citizens click away without knowing that what theyŕe seeing or hearing is not true. So when people spread it thinking itś correct, bad decisions are made, and beliefs are changed.
-
Fake news isn´t just affecting important decisions in the average daily life of a normal person. It´s having much larger impacts on much larger issues.
Social media is not only used for entertainment, but also used by people expressing important issues. So when they can control the fake advertisements on the site, the outcome for a certain issue could take a turn for the worst.

E-commerce
Not only is online shopping become more popular, but using apps to call a car, using companies like Uber is blowing up. The average person could benefit from this greatly, but technology like this is putting cab drivers out of business.
When shopping online, people don´t get the luxury of trying out a product before it´s bought. It´s also a huge risk using a credit or debit card to buy items online, so many things could go wrong.
Those beauty or clothes ads that pop up on your computer appeal to you, and then ask for your credit or debit card. You´re so intrigued by now that you don´t even notice that they could be profiting of of you now, without you being aware of it.
As technology is becoming more advanced, more companies like Amazon are profiting greatly due to the fact that it has become way easier to access. easier to access means more paying customers. Regular stores will struggle once online shopping takes hold of their paying customers.
Because the laws were repealed, bigger companies can force companies like Amazon to pay a fee to get their stuff delivered on time.
Net Neutrality
Net Neutrality laws were repealed, even though the majority of voters were against it. We may not like to admit it, but we basically have no say in what ISP companies can do to other companies now, which means that the next episode our favorite TV show is not coming on anytime soon.
-
Ultimately, now that the Net Neutrality laws have been repealed, ISP companies can now favor whoever they want, making large sums of money without any consequences.
Big ISP companies (Internet service providers) profit from there being no Net Neutrality laws. And since these laws are no longer in place, they can bully the smaller companies into paying them to deliver their content faster.
