Pact made its members even more reliant upon the USSR for military aid in the event of an attack from outside or within.
Division of Germany
Both Germany and Berlin were divided unequally, with the USSR getting a greater share than any of the other powers.
However, the Western powers were determined that Berlin would still be divided also
meant that there was a pocket of Capitalism within the USSR controlled East Germany. Berlin soon became the stage on which the Cold War would be fought.
Iron Curtain Speech
