改错:

主语是number(数量) 是单数。 应该改成 “ is”。
the number of: 后接可数名词复数形式,但动词用的是单数形式**
a number of: 后接可数名词复数形式,但动词用的是复数**形式
the amount of: 后接不可数名词,动词用的是单数形式
