how can we illustrate the value of visualization?
Create tasks that are interdependent but people don't know they are interdependent
Have them try to do the tasks without a visualization board
Introduce a visualization board
What are the tasks? simple puzzle with a missing piece.
But pieces have to be describable . So not a a jugsaw puzzle but an asisgnment.
Maybe like assembling shapes.
Work as a team but each team member has a task/puzzle.
It could be a quiz on the material, instead of a puzzle.
Each participant gets an envelope containing 10 tasks
Tasks have points. Higher points may have more dependencies
1/2 of the tasks have dependencies to another task. Simply "you can't do this until #49 is done"
How many tasks did they finish by the end?
Round 2 - setup task board. Use blocker markers.
Maybe a build
Several rounds of a city
building restrictions - no rehab near a school
one team is downtown, one is residential and one is industrial>?
What pieces can be rare? That need to be shared? Swing set? Wheels?
Round 2 - task board
Each team in a swimlane
Needs / Has board?
What are the team dependencies?
