Microcomputers are the normal computer we use at home and work.
A type and a speed of processor normal runs around 2000 million operations a second. Each computer has 2 processor units.
Now a lot of things use micro computers there no need for a keyboard for controlling the system. Examples are from phones to washing machines and many more in the world!
There are other microcomputers such as laptops that we can carry around and makes our life easier.
Keyboards are output devices that help in typing, keyboards are very slow to work with, but it is very effective and still used today
There are also other keyboards such as the braille keyboard which is a keyboard for blind people
Also another type of keyboard is the concept key boards. It's just flat screens that uses touch screen, so if you touch the screen it will open a program or software, these can be found in the check out of restaurants and are mostly used in primary schools as it is easy to be used.

The mouse has a motion detector at the bottom of mouse that shines beam of light.
Trackerball are similar to a mouse, but a more old design, it has a large ball on top that we use to move the mouse. Unlike a mouse it doesn't have a sensor or a ball at the bottom. So it doesn't have to be moved like a mouse. It's an output device.

But these cameras are big and heavy and expensive, but in all it is worth it as it produces a better result.
Web Cameras are cameras that sits on top of your computer that takes a video or a photo of your face. But these cameras are very expensive, because they are small and compact, but the outcome of the photo or video is not that good as the camera is smalll and compact, but in the future the photos would be much better.
Scanner are use to input pictures and text into a computer. Scanning text in order to recognise the word and letter that needs a speacial software to see it in the computer.
Optical Mark Reader is basically what reads the paper in the scanner. The reader scans through the paper with an Infra Red beam of light where it doesn't make a mark
OCR is the software which detects the words when scanned and it can show how big the writing is they can also read in multiple styles of handwriting, but sometimes it doesn't work as the handwriting cannot be read by the computer.

These pictures can be transferred to a computer and can be printed but you would need a data cable, which is mostly included in the package.
Infra red remote controllers are used to change channels in a television. When a button is pressed it will produce a series of light pulses and are received on the TV by a infra-red receiver.

A light pen is similar to a mouse it can be use to click on a software or button in the monitor, it is normally use in art and design industries.
Magnetic materials are used to make inputting data to a computer easier and some of them are magnetic ink mostly used for bank cheques and the black stripe at the back of a smart card like a debit or credit card.
Microphones are small mikes that will make your sound louder when giving a speech and it could also translate what you say to a different language through a word processor.
MIDI is a machine used for music or the controlling of how loud a sound is during a concert, but it's not only used for that and it can also play music and recordings, basically it's just a computer for music.

Speakers are output devices that are used for sounds that are louder than the sound produced by the computer. These can range from small speaker to headsets to large speakers of the Cinema
