struggles with herself when she knew that her only daughter is the chosen one to sacrifice for the village
She think is an honour to die for the country, but she is a mother a she can't let her daughter blown away by the wind

Society had declared him the bravest of men, but he assumed the position of a simple father and wept bitterly
He ruled for many years with only one wife, but people rebuked him because his only wife did not bear hime a daughter

She think that she much fight for her life but the society want her to sacrifice
The society did not talk about monster so she can't picture it even she wanted to picture the size and shape of the monster
Point of View
Third Person
we can see there are lot of third person pronouns such as "he, she, his, her, they"etc
For examples
They were completely stunned
But they would not be a good match
He started to speak, but words refused to leave his lips
She must fight for her life
They had watched him getting thinner and thinner as the people kept on pestering him
All these years she had been with her people she though she understood them
She ran to meet him
Omniscient
The readers can see every action that the characters did from event to event .Also, they can understand every character such as their thought, feeling, motivation and emotion.
For examples
The people in the village danced and sang after they heard if Oganda sacrifice, they may have rain, and it can make the reader feel how happy through their action.
Labong'o's eyes were red, and they could see he had been weeping. The reader can sense the emotion were sad and displayed when Labong'o tryed to tell the news to the people.
After Oganda knew the news she fought desperately to find the exit, it makes the reader understand Oranda want to escape and want to fight for her life.
All these years Uganda had been with her people she though she understood them, and it can make the reader see how Oganda though about the people of the village after they knew the news.
Theme
The theme of this story
is to sacrifice for the sake of tribe which customs and believes based on the traditions of the villagers.
The daughter of Labong'O
, Oganda must give up her life to safe lives of her tribe, so they could have rain. He lead his tribe, "but what were the Luo for him without Oganda?" (Ogot ph4)
The parents
of Oganda have been straggle in period of whole story, they didn't wan't accept the reality that they have to sacrifice their the only daughter ''Taking Oganda away from them would leave two useless stones which would not hold a cooking pot." (Ogot ph 16)
The tribe believe
if Oganda sacrifice so the will have rain. "Oganda is the lucky one to die for the people. If it is to save the people, let Ogonda go".(Ogot ph 10)
Oganda straggle even more
as she is the one who need to sacrifice . And "all her childhood plans were coming to an end" (Ogot ph 23)
The culmination of the story focus
on Oganda self-sacrifice, the purpose to safe Luo people.
Oganda obey
her father and fulfil wish of the people and sacrifice her life to delivery rain for Luo.
The culmination rise
when Oganda reach lakes she felt that she have been followed by the Lake monster, she start run and faint. When Oganda regain consciousness she found out that was Ocinda came to save her.

Denouement
Oganda escapes with Osinda from the wrath of the monster and their ancestors. "They began to run.Than the thunder roared, and the rain came down in torrents ." (Ogot ph 50)

When Oganda regain consciousness she found out that was Ocinda came to save her.

Introduction
In the beginning of the story the chief Labong’O delivered news from Ndithi medicine man to the villagers, that to have a rain, he must sacrifice his own daughter mustsatsacesacrifice his own and the only daughter.
Initiating incident
Labongo’s knew his daughter is the chosen one, and he was so sad also struggles with himself to sacrifice his only daughter and there no other option to solve this dilemma.
