Chesky quit his job and move to San Fransisco with Joe
At first, they don't have enough money to pay the rent
That weekend International Design Conferences was coming to San Fransisco, but every hotels was sold out
Airbed and breakfast
they thought of creating this for the design conferences
They called it airbeds and breakfast because Joe have 3 airbeds and then they pulled it out and inflated the airbeds
They started doing this because they thought it was funny cool and they will make money
They realized that this can contracted a year long friendship into a couple days
Their core idea was "what if you book someone's else home the way you book a hotel, anywhere in the world?"
2.How does Airbnb work
Travellers search for a property in the city where they wish to stay and browse available options according to price, amenities
Booking is made through Airbnb where traveller pays the amount mentioned by host and some additional money as transaction charges
Airbnb sends a professional photographer (if available) to the property location in order to take high quality photographs
Host approves the booking. Traveller stays there and finally Airbnb pays the amount to the host after deducting their commission
Hosts list out their property details on Airbnb along with other factors like pricing, amenities provided
