It's impact on Mars
So far every option except for global warming is very destructive and would probably harm the planet even more.
As for global warming, it might affect us when we actually start living on Mars. Global warming is already a big problem for humans today, and we can't guarantee we won't be causing more of it with cars and electricity.
How we actually do these things
Explosion
Bomb
Simple task of exploding a certain area of Mars for it to set on fire and burn it's polar regions giving the planet water.
Disaster
There is no known answer for this one yet, but with the rapid discovery rate and the speed of inventing highly functioning technology I'm sure we can find an answer. Although I'm not sure this would be a topic most scientists would want to study about.
There are multiple answers to this, so the answer is we do whatever ways we can start a fire
Global warming
The one most popular cause of global warming is electricity use. What if we do what we do today to cause global warming on Mars? Not dangerous to humans and we have everything we need to do it. Sure it's not exactly the best choice for the environment, but I would rather have global warming that could last decades then not have water. Wouldn't you?
There are also other ways to cause global warming like water vapor or deforestation, but we will get back to those once we
even have
water to vaporise or trees to deforest(is that even a word? I have no idea).

Natural disaster
A natural disaster seems like something to consider at a first glance, but once you really think about it there are actually a lot of things to consider
We cannot force it to happen
Maybe
there is a way out there to do it, but we simply haven't found it yet.
Even if there is a way we can, it would probably be a very complex task and might need some elements we haven't even discovered yet.
If we haven't terraformed a single planet yet I doubt that we have even found out how to force a natural disaster to happen
Destructive
It would probably just cause damage to the planet and possibly effect the very traits that make it habitable.
Bomb
How long will it take? How much money will it cost? Are we looking at danger without even realizing it? These questions and more will probably make us think that this also isn't the best option.
Fire
Ways we can create a fire
Just set something on fire and watch it grow? Probably not.
What if it spreds to places we don't want burned? How long can we do we have to stop it before it turns the whole planet into a miniature sun? Will we become roasted as well? What willl we do to prepare for this event?
Global warming
So far global warming is the only one of all our options that isn't destructive.
Not only that but we can do it safely and we have everything we need to do it(cut back to terraforming)so we might actually do this.
