Math: Solving radical equations and inequalities (6-7)
If the radical is to the power of 2
Multiply both side by square to remove the radical
Simplify
Move any numbers that are not under the square root to the other side of the inequality
After you find the solution, place the inequality and make it more than or equal to 0
After you find the solution for that, you can create a number line, place the numbers of both the solutions that you got and then see where do they both meet up
If the radical is to the power of 3
Simplify
After you found the the solution for x, stop there and don't proceed
Multiply both side by cube to remove the radical
Move any numbers that are not under the cube root to the other side of the inequality
Inequalities
Equations
check your answer
it might be rejected means their is no solution
substute
if the answer is equal then their is real solution
steps
square both sides to get ride from the radical
solve for x
move any numbers to the other side
check your answer
