Evaluation Question 4: How did you use media technologies in the construction of your products.
Social Media
Social Media was more of an experimental way of seeing how our band would promote and create a fan base that would follow them. We used Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to upload things about the band and the current progress of our video and ancillary texts.
Illustrator was an experimental program which allowed me to draw our The Moab logo for our poster and other features for our digipak. It was easier to use than photoshop but didn't have as many features on it.
Photoshop was the main program used to make our digipak and posters. We wanted to make something different and learned about a technique called double exposure which we created on photoshop.
Premiere Pro was how we all edited our final video on. This was a new program to me this year, and after tutorials and lesson on it i learned all the techniques possible to finish our video.
This was the program I used last year, and had installed on my mac, so it was the easier and most available to me to edit my production diaries on. This allowed a quick and professional looking video that was able to be directly exported to Youtube.
DSLR
This was Leons camera that we filmed our video on, with a tripod. This allowed us to play with the focus and create high defined and zoomed in videos that may not have been possible with our phone.
Iphone
I used my phone for a number of things. Mainly to film my filming diaries while we were filming. This was easy and simple with fairly good quality and allowed me to airdrop straight to my laptop to edit on Final Cut Pro.
Youtube was the online platform that allowed me to upload my videos such as production and films diaries, drafts of our video, and then embed them onto my blog. I also used this a lot for tutorials on how to do things like the double exposure effect on photoshop.
Blogger was the online platform that allowed me to present the chronological events of creating my products, and embed certain other online platform into it to make it more interactive.
Speaker
This was used thorughout filming, as we needed to be in time with the song, the speaker allowed us all to hear it and play in time, especially for me to lip sync in time.
Mac
Mac was the device I did many of my individual editing and then the big mac at school was the computer that we edited our final video and ancillary texts on.
After Effects was one of the more complicated programs we used. Alex had some previous experience in the program and took the lead in creating our final scene with the house burning down in special effects.
