some of the laws that were passed inside of black codes
some restricted black people from being represented in politics
in some states, freed blacks were arrested if they didn’t have a place to live or work
black people were not allowed to vote for some time
black people were not allowed to marry white people
a lot more than this, obviously, but I couldn't find any more disctinct ones

sometimes had to work for the same people that they were slaves for
some states had hundreds of black laws
every state chose their own black codes
some laws in black codes actually benefited some slaves, and they were happy living in the south where they were.

people had to work for little to no money, AT PLANTATIONS, so it was basically SLAVERY!!!!!!!!
