Definitions
Lynching- a lynching is an event where a mob of people gathers for murder (usually whites hanging blacks during Reconstruction).
Examples
A White man by the name of Homer Plessy’s great-grandmother was African and due to Jim Crow Enforcement and Racism, he was considered black for having any Black blood in him at all, causing the Plessy decision Court Case.
In it, the entire Supreme Court had agreed with Ferguson that Plessy was a Black and that he should be arrested causing such a big commotion with everyone over the thought of being “separate but equal”.
Almost 1 century later, Justice John Marshall Harlan’s voice during the initial Plessy Decision would strike the rest of the Supreme Court and the case would be reversed, causing the Civil Rights Movement and Jim Crow Laws to be kicked of off “the stage”.
