Every 20 seconds or so "A buzzer sounded in George's head. His thoughts fled in panic, like bandits from a burglar alarm."
The government should not control the intelligence of people because that can then limit everyone's potential to think for themselves.
Information is restricted. 2
People can not get the information needed because "... the announcer, like all announcers, had a serious speech impediment."
The government can limit the amount of information the people can receive.
Citizens conform to uniform expectations. 3
The ballerina had to conform to the way the world wanted to see her as because "... she was the strongest and most graceful of all the dancers, for her handicaps bags were as big as those worn by two-hundred pound men."
