Personally, growing up with conflict shyness was hard as I always had high anxiety when it came to reading out loud or presenting to the class. In grade 1, I attended an ESL(English Second Language) program in which a teacher would help students improve their grammar, reading, and presentations. However, due to being the only one of my siblings and cousins to be in ESL, my parents thought I was not capable of performing at the same intelligence level as them. As a child, it felt as if my parents did not fault me, causing me to develop high amounts of stress and fear. Fear of my parents being right about me not being smart enough. This has impacted my future as to this day, I am unable to read out loud without stuttering. Though I still try to learn to improve these skills, it is harder now that I am older.
