Definition
Leadership is a process where by an individual influences a group of individuals to archieve a common goal
An act or behavior, the power relationship between leaders and followers and an instrument of goal achievement. Leadership involves influence, occurs within a group context and involves goal attainment
Focus:
The focus of leadership research can include group processes, a personality perspective.

i. Focus: exclusively on leader and the traits that leaders exhibit, find the “ right” people
ii, Strengths : intuitively appealing given the perception that leaders are different in that they posses special traits
i. Short comings: fails to establish a definitive list of leadership traits and thus endless lists have emerged, situation may not be leaders in another situation

i. Focus: are primarily descriptive in that it describes leadership from skills perspective and provides a structure for understanding the nature of effective leadership
