11.3-Conflict Management Stages
Step 1. Set the Stage
Do not fight on any sort of public social media platform such as facebook, others do not need to see this and it might make things more complicated. And obviously you should be ready to fight, and only fight about problems that can actually be solved.
Step 2. Define the Conflict
You should know what you are fighting for and logically think it over, a lot of people will use their emotions to lash out at the other person, and this does no good for either party.
Step 3. Identify Your Goals
Ask yourself what you really want to accomplish from this conflict, and keep those in mind for its entirety.
Step 4. Identify and Evaluate Your Choices
Think about all the choices that will be available for you to pick, some will have benefits that others may not, but those ones might benefit one party while harming the other.
Step 5. Act on the Selected Choice
Once you have made a choice you should act on it, think of how this choice will effect your future and those around you.
Step 6. Evaluate the Choice
Think of how choice has worked out, is it working for everyone or just one person, and if it is not working for everyone how does the other person feel about it.
Step 7. Wrap It Up
Sometimes when you finish one conflict another one may start up, this could be that someone feels they were wronged and is bitter about it. You should learn from your previous conflicts and attempt to adjust for the future.
