    - - Brick Lane is most famous for its wide selection of curry houses. There is a massive selection, including Sheba, Cinnamon and Muhib. Brick Lane has long been considered the official home of London’s best curry houses, with numerous restaurants in the city after an influx of Bangladeshi migrant workings in the 70’s.
    - - Brick Lane is highly commended for its café, most notably being the Nude Expresso. on Hanbury Street. There is an impressive selection of freshly baked brownies, flapjacks, muffins, cookies and much more.

        In 2005 funding was announced for the East London Line Extension, which would extend the existing line from Whitechapel tube station bypassing Shoreditch tube station (which closed in June 2006) and creating a new station titled Shoreditch High Street.

        While Shoreditch has no access to the London Underground since 2006, there has since been discussions of creating an interchange with the Central line between Liverpool Street and Bethnal Green at Shoreditch High
