Touching the Void Tension Graph - Andrea 7EN4

Clarity: It is very foggy and wispy, making it slightly hard to see the climbers, this shows the weather and the visibility on the mountain.

Close Up: There are several close ups on the climber skidding down the steep mountain slope, furiously trying to come to a halt.

Camera Angles: The camera switches quickly from several different view points. This shows fear, as if you don't know where it's coming from so you don't stop looking in every direction.

  1. Shot #4: Overhang (33:22)
  1. Concluding Shot: Blackness (34:50)

Sound Effects: There is a sound effect which is kind of- crashing snow? The climber is skidding off this steep slope, trying to grab onto the snow and ice- making the 'crashing snow' sound.

Sound Effects: There is the sound effect of heavy falling snow to have the audience feel as if they were, too, falling off a overhang. There continues to have wind for the realistic value as well.

Heavy Breathing: Shows exasperation from the character, or fear from shortly before. This directly shows the audience what the character is feeling.

Narrative Element: Joe is narrating over the scene, giving insight on how he was feeling and what he was doing to tell the audience in case they were confused.

Silence: Gives the audience a contrast between the eventful sounds from before with the wind etc. Also giving the audience time to process the scene before.

Pitch Black: This provides a nice transition scene to the next part of the film as there is nothing to focus on, which is what is meant to happen.
