Some countries are different, such as china, where on the economical side, it is closer to capitalism. This means that the people of china can freely create businesses and make money for themselves.
Everyone does their given work, and is given a specific amount of money, which is all controlled by the government.

Communism did not work, because people lost the incentive to work at their best, since working harder than the person next to you wasn't going to make your life any better. So people worked at the lowest possible standard in order to gain their needs.
As all wages and pays for people doing a certain job would only have a certain amount, they would only work at the lowest possible standard as they would get the same amount but didn't have to do as much work
