        -Cover map area with squares

        Planimetering
        -Convert an area on a map to an area vs height graph
        -Planimeter area vs height to give volume

        -Involves selection of single value for each parameter in reserves calculation
        -Discrete value for each parameter is selected based on estimator’s determination of value that is most appropriate for corresponding reserves category
      - Probabilistics
        -Involves describing range of possible values for each unknown parameter
        -This approach typically consists employing computer software to perform repetitive calculations (eg Monte Carlo simulation) to generate full range of possible outcomes & their associated probability of occurence
