Urbanization is a population shift from rural areas to urban areas. Plus the population nearly doubled.
Industrialization allowed workers to make more money, better clothing, and more heat for their house.
Class Tensions:
Poor city dwellers lacked houses and were basically homeless
Factory Workers had long hours in unsafe conditions with little wages.
Wealthy merchants, factory owners, shippers gained wealth and status
Children were forced to child labore
Lower middle class of factory overseers and skilled workers had a comfortable living.
