Analysis of the characters
Dorian Gray: He follows the philosophy of “the new Hedonism” but actually he destroys himself by doing immoral acts. If Victorian Society celebrates individualism, Dorian fails to live by his own moral code.
Lord Henry Wotton: he’s always ready with well-phrased epigrams to criticize the moralism and hypocrisy in Victorian Society but actually he doesn’t indulge in squallid behavior.
Basil Hallward: he represent the genuineness of his love for art and Dorian and his concern for the safety of his friend soul but this dedication proves to be fatal.
:forbidden: the omnipresence of Henry Wotton.
