Geography of Africa
Savanna
Animals: There are many animals found here. African elephants are mostly found here. You will find elephants because they live on hot and dry areas.
Climate: The climate is usually warm temperatures from 68°F to 86°F. The climate ere is really dry & warm. It has a tropical climate and on winter it gets really cold. The climate changes on every season. They have two different seasons in a savanna. There is a long and dry season (winter) and a very wet season (summer). They hardly have rainy days in the Savanna's.
-
Geography: Savanna's can be find between a tropical rain forest and desert biome. They cover up half of earth's surface. They are made up mostly of grass and some scattered trees. It is a mixed woodland and grassland. The trees are widely spaced so that the canopy does not close.
Natural Resources: One major natural resource is the grass. Most of the animals that live here eat grass. There is scattered trees but we won't see many trees in the savannas because of the little rainfall.
-
Sahara Desert
Climate: The climate is very high at all times. The Sahara desert is the world's hottest deserts. They get rain once in a while. The Sahara does have water. Unlike other deserts, this desert dry's out most of the time.
Geography: The Sahara is a really large desert. It covers up more than 9 million squares. Most of its landscape has been shaped over the years by wind, sand dunes, ergs, and more. The water that you will find here is in the form of seasonal or streams.
-
Animals: In the middle of the Sahara desert there are 70 different kind of animals. There are really big animals living there like sand fox, gazelle's and more. As usual there is reptiles, lizards, & sand vipers living there too. It is hard for them to find food because it is very dry so most of the time they eat each other.
Natural Resources: They can trade oil. This oil is hidden beneath the Sahara desert. One major natural resource is water. They can find the water and trade it. There are some great plants in the Sahara, so they can use the plants to eat them.
-
Rain Forest
Climate: It has a tropical climate. The climate here is never to low or to high. It has humid climate because of all the rainfall.
Geography: Workers making roads and burn farming are making the rain forest fall apart. At this moment they are working on taking care of the rain forests. The rain forest is the home of lots of plants and animal species. The rain forest can be divided into 3 layers. On those three layers plants and animals live there.
Animals: Mountain Gorillas are the most known in the rain forest. Another animal that lives here is the African grey parrot. These birds are most known for being really quite and great pets. They are also good hunters when looking for their small prey. There is a huge population on birds in the rain forest. There are any small and huge animals living here.
Natural Resources: One major natural resource here is water. Water is very popular all around the country's and the rain forests are very lucky to have a lot of water. There is bamboo, coconut trees, tualang (tree) and more plants in the rain forest.
-
Sahel
Climate: The climate in the Sahel's are tropical. The climate is hot, sunny, very dry, and it receives a small amount of wind throughout the year. The rainfall is affected by a belt of low pressure girdling the earths's equator.
Citation: "The relative humidity in the steppe is low to very low, often between 10% and 25% during the dry season and between 25% and 75% during the rainy season." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sahel
Geography: The surface of the Sahel is mostly flat. There is grass growing here. The grass is important because animals will be able to eat it.
Animals: There are mostly gazelle's living in the sahel. They live in the Sahel and they try to avoid parts of rocky mountains.

Animals: The coast has a perfect climate for animals to be leaving here. There is a huge population of fish in the coast.
Natural Resources: One natural resource is that they have a lot of fish. They can trade the fish for other items.
