Lennie is a poor bastard because he is mentally challenged and didnt mean to do what he did, but now he is doomed. He is going to be punished for something he didnt mean to do

doesnt know what is going on. All he is thinking about is that he wouldnt be able to tend the rabbits. But he should have been worried about what would happen (he would die, or get punished)
