Introduction: Addictive behaviour occurs when people become physically or biologically dependent on a substance because of repeated use over time. Smoking is an example of substance abuse when smokers want to quit but find they are unable to. In order to combat this addictive behaviour, treatments, which help people to quit smoking, can be implemented. Although prevention strategies and treatments may present many advantages and positive effects, however, their effectiveness can still be debated.
