Writing in the Classroom
-
Motivate writers by giving students choice on where and how they can write in the classroom. Example writing on the floor.
-
Students will be involved by having the choice of style of writing they will be doing.
Styles of writing:
- narrative
- expressive
- informational or expository
- poetry
-
-
Presentation! Motivate students to love writing by giving many opportunities to share it . Posting students work around the classroom, sending it home to parents or allowing them to share it in front of the class.
Giving students continues feedback to help them improve their writing. Provide strategies that would help to improve the writing.

My thoughts on writing have changed, I did not know the steps of the writing process until this class.
- prewriting
- drafting
3.feedback
- presentation
- role of the audience.
These steps are important to follow to ensure students will produce their best work and have a good experience with writing.
-
Presentation : Publication and/ or celebration. Get students excited about what they have accomplished in their writing
-
Drafting - writing, editing and revising
Pre writing- The planning stage can come in many forms . There can be webs, lists , pictures and talking with classmates. Students are planning out their ideas.
With students having the choice on how they would like to plan their writing can get them more engaged in writing
