War - Edwin Starr
Message
-
Wars will destroy and halt the process of development for mentally and physically affected soldiers that fought in the Vietnam War
Raise awareness that wars are caused by global elites yet it is fought by the younger generations who didn't contribute to the political conflicts
States the damages that wars will cause the younger people that fought in the Vietnam War like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, drug abuse and lost crucial body parts
Characteristics
Uses repetition to drive home its main message, which is to remind people that wars cause nothing but more wars
Uses emotive languages that the families who have sent their boys to the military to fight for the country would feel when their children come back with a missing arm, drug addiction or in a box
Uses rhetorical questions to keep the audience thinking about the non-existent positive outcomes of wars
Uses a lot of personal opinions to sway audience into his perspective that wars are useless death bombs and should be stopped immediately

Discuss a very sensitive topic with effectiveness and I support Edwin Starr's perspective on stopping wars as I think that they are also useless and just cause a shortage of grave stones

Comments
- mind map is full with information
- given a good detail explanation on everything
- maybe you could add the meanings of one particular line that you like the most.

Good explanation for everything with reasonable detail, I also like that he labeled the areas of explanation.Maybe he could add a little bit more detail into the explanations but otherwise, everything is good.

I have added more explanations in what makes this song a strong protest song like a little about the song's history
Favourite stanza:
(War), It ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
(War), Friend only to the undertaker
War is the enemy of all mankind
The thought of war blows my mind
War has caused unrest, within the younger generation
Induction then destruction. Who wants to die?
I like this line because it summarizes the main idea of the song very well, which is that war is just useless and should be stopped. Again and again, has Edwin Starr drilled that war is useless and only cause damage into our heads
