Infiltration of
atypical lymphocytes in the glands
(lymphoepithelial lesions) and in the
lamina propria
Prognosis of
primary GI lymphomas:
very good prognosis
primary
lymphoma of the GI is the only lymphoma that is treated with antibiotics
better prognosis than lymphoma of other sites and
carcinoma
Treatment of primary GI lymphomas:
chemotherapy,
radiation.
Combined surgery
50% of gastric MALT lymphomas may regress with antibiotic treatment for H.
pylori*
