Personal Reactions and Experiences During Job Shadow: I thoroughly enjoyed my Job Shadow Visit at the Louisville Zoo. It furthered my interest in pursuing this career.
What I Did
In the afternoon, my Job Shadow attended a meeting I could not sit in on. I went with some of my Job Shadow's employees as they completed assigned tasks.
At the end of the day, my Job Shadow explained to me the system the maintenance department at Louisville Zoo uses to get tasks done around the park. After this, I was put to work and helped other people in this department do a few miscellaneous tasks around the
To begin the day, I attended a meeting with my Job Shadow. Facilities issues and updates were discussed.
What my Job Shadow did
After picking me up, my Job Shadow attended a meeting and then dropped me off as he intended another meeting regarding the work of one of his employees.
After dropping me off with some of his friendly employees, my Job Shadow went on to complete miscellaneous tasks around the Zoo and help prepare the Zoo's facilities and vehicles for a cold winter.
My Job Shadow started his day riding through the Louisville Zoo in his golf cart. He went around doing a general checkup on facilities around the Zoo and also made stops to answer questions from other employees regarding certain facilities.
Overall Reaction
Overall, my Job Shadow visit at the Louisville Zoo made me more interested in this career. I think I am a good leader I would like the responsibility of leading people. I liked the independence of the job as well.
