Pass through deep inguinal ring (Midpoint of inguinal ligament - 1 1/2 cm above femoral pulse) and if it is large, out through the superficial ring (Split in external oblique superior and medial to pubic tubercule)

Push directly through the posterior wall of inguinal canal, into a defect in abdominal wall - no use of inguinal rings
