There are degrees of transferability. According to Montesquieu, some factors that link law to the environment are physical, cultural, political. Since Montesquieu, there has been growing uniformity in culture due to assimilation of economic conditions. Industrialisation, urbanisation, globalisation, all reduced environmental obstacles to legal transplantation because different societies are beginning to face the same problems. So laws can be transplanted from a country which face a similar problem.
