How will you motivate the learners in your class to write?
As a future teacher, i will practice writing with students as soon as possible. Id love to teach in a division one classroom, and with that idea in mind, i think i would be able to incorporate writing early on in their education years. With the thought that we are writing for an audience, we then give writing a purpose. I am going to encourage my students to write daily in a journal about their thoughts, ideas, or questions that they may have from that day. Having students write daily, will improve their communication skills, as well as express their feelings. Writing daily can also help students with their creativity and exploration As teachers, we need to provide a supportive environment so students can feel comfortable with writing, and writing freely. If students feel safe in the classroom, they will be open to writing and write about ideas and thoughts they feel comfortable with. If we teach our students about writing and different ways they can write, they will have more options and be able to express their creativity of writing in different ways.Teachers need to provide intentional instruction when working with writing and having their students write.Teachers should also provide a writing assessment, so students are aware what the teacher is looking for when they are writing for a certain purpose.Assement gives students expectations of what information should be involved, and the way the student writes.
