The ultimate goal is an economy in which individuals have ultimate autonomy, working with resources that they themselves own, individually or as voluntary associations, in which economic and political power is distributed equally enough that no one holds authority over others.
There are 4 major trends of social anarchy = Mutualism, collectivism, anarcho-communism and syndicalism. The differences between these 4 are not great, they simply involve differences in strategy. The most major difference is between mutualism and other types of social anarchism.

The French Pierre-Joseph Proudhon is known as the first self-proclaimed anarchist, a label he got when his book got out, What is Property?, published in 1840. It is for this reason that some claim Proudhon as the founder of modern anarchist theory.
Social anarchism emphasizes class unity, while individualist anarchism emphasizes individual autonomy. the individualist anarchist would rather do things alone or focus on how the individual can be empowered through an anarchist political system; and the social anarchist would rather work in cooperatives or commune's in a collaborative, open fashion, attempting to build strong, resilient communities which take care of all.
Their goal is abolishing the Government, Capitalism, unjust hierarchies, etc..
The social anarchist version of mutualism is different from the individualist form because the social anarchist have the mutual banks owned by the local community (or commune) instead of being independent co-operatives.
