Socioeconomic
Education - if you are warned and aware of the risk factors of smoking, you would be less likely to particle in risk factors
Employment - some professions (mining or construction) exposes you to chemicals which can increase risk of cancer also stressful jobs or nature off work (eg. smoking breaks)
Environmental
Geographic location - major determinant as highly polluted city air increase the risk of lung cancer, especially when compared to regional ares

Exposure to toxins - tobacco smoke, pollution, radiation etc.
Sociocultural
Media - promotes high profile women smoking to control weight (body images and smoking plays a large role in a high rate of females smoking)
Family - passive smoking can be as harmful as smoking if surrounded by it for a high duration (eg. at home)
