SUBCONSCIOUS COOKING
"Getting kissed by a muse"
Step back and take a break... enev go and do something mundane like vacuum cleaning.
Eventually the idea will just come. (this is the kissing part)
BAPTIZE YOURSELF then drop it like it's hot
THE IMPORTANT PART IS BEING READY TO CAPTURE THE KISS (IDEA) WHEN IT LANDS ON YOU!!
Because just as fast as it shows up... that's how quick it will be forgotten.
The conscience mind goes shopping for the ingredients, but the subconscious mind cooks the meal.
The basic idea here is to Create the circumstances that cause your subconscious can create the idea
STEP 1 Create Boundaries
Play with them once created... expand them, or tighten them... But it's good to just start by creating them in the first place.
STEP 2 Consume EVERYTHING
Consume everything you can within these boundaries
Watch movies
talk to people
try products
taste food
DO YOUR RESEARCH
STEP 3 Digest the research
Study the materials
Organize the materials
Arrange them into a narrative
Try to group things together
Create a Map
Make sense of the material as best you can
Push yourself to the max!!!
Be fully saturated to the brim!
Don't leave this phase too early
STEP 4 Drop it
Go on a walk
Relax
Go on a vacation
A hike
Do something mundane
do some chores
Allow your subconcience to do its work
MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!! BE READY TO CAPTURE WHAT YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS COMES UP WITH
#
If you are having trouble... Adjust your boundaries
#
It is our conscience mind that provides the criteria for the subconscious
Escape the Echo Chambers
Facebook gives us what we want to hear... break into a thing that provokes your way of thinking
Surface Exposure
:(In essence: Showing up)
:pen:
If you show up in front of a piece of paper with a pen every day for 8 hours a day for years... chances are you'll create something out of the two.
Alternatively if you never provide a opportunity for an idea to be captured it will likely be lost.
This really boils down to the concept that discipline is a HUGE part of creativity.
When information is
Copied
Transformed
Combined
Examples of thing commonly misconstrued as an idea.
facts
data
Algorithm
Deep Learning
Concept
I think a concept is different than an idea, because an idea is like the raw unrefined form of a concept. Whereas a concept is an executable form of an idea. To say an idea is the same as a concept is like saying that a caterpillar is the same thing as a butterfly.
Could it be that an idea is the abstract and a concept is the concrete?!?!
