Detroit is a city that was hurt during the end of the motor car industry in america. This is called deindustrialisation when all the businesses left to find cheaper areas for production. The white people left this was known as white flight they left because there was no jobs but now it is in the situation that there is no work, houses are dirt cheap as no one wants to live there
New York
Obviously another city in america its a city that has been rapidly expanded because of the rush of immigrants following the american dream which really doesn't exist. There are ethnic enclaves such as Chinatown, Little Italy which is stereo typically full of pizza shops. The city of New york founded by english settlers was a very small town back before the immigrants came over the city then grew and took over the surrounding areas(suburbanisation).

World city is a city that has a very large worldwide influence such as London or New York
A city in the UK defines as any size settlement that contains a cathedral so Exeter Is a city but Milton Keynes is not.
