Input, Output and storage devices

What is an Input, Output and storage device?
Input device- An input device is piece of computer hardware which is used to send data to a particular computer system.


Output device- An output device is any particular piece of computer hardware used to communicate the results of data that has been processed/recorded.


Storage devices- A storage device is a piece of computer equipment which can be used to store important information/data.

Examples of Input, output and storage devices-

Output Devices- Output devices come in several forms, including display monitors, printers and speakers, and they are distinct from input devices, which are the parts of the computer that give the machine instructions.
DVD or CD-ROM - A DVD or CD-ROM is a media device on which the user can write data and information. DVDs have replaced CD-ROMs since they hold more information than legacy discs. Usually, DVDs are used as storage backups to save documents/ applications in case of a hard drive failure..

Input devices-
Keyboard- A keyboard consists of many types of keys that can be pressed to input commands or letters or characters. These are used to write documents but can be also used to navigate interfaces.
Scanner-These devices allow a user to input a photograph or document into the computer. In addition, By placing a piece of media in a scanner, you can make an image file that can be opened and even manipulated on the computer.

CD-ROMS

Optical discs that use the same technology as music CDs. They store up to approximately 700MB. CDs can be used for multimedia applications like encyclopaedias and can store pictures, sounds and video clips etc
There are several formats on the market, such as:
CD-ROM - read only, the data is written to them before they are sold.

For question 2, out of the options for computer monitor, mouse, CD-ROM and printer i did not recognise that a mouse is an input device
A computer mouse is an input device that is most often used with a personal computer. Moving a mouse along a flat surface can move the on-screen cursor to different items on the screen.
