Types of Handshakes

D O M I N A T O R

Cold and Clammy

Queen's Fingertips

Keep Back

hand hug!!

Wrap your hand with their left hand, making a nice little cocoon around your hand!

((when done with the right person)) perceived as warm, friendly, trustworthy, and honest.

Can turn into a pile of FOUR hands!!!!

Really should only be done with people that share close bonds. They don't call it a hand hug for no reason.

Sometimes people put their left hand on the other person's forearm or elbow or bicep. They say, the higher up the hand, the closer the bond. ((Don't do this to try to get closer to people, it won't work.))

Displays their palm downward, showing a sign of Authority or Superiority.

CRUSHER

Let your boss feel more powerful (if they're that kind of person) by letting them have their hand on top.

Can also come in handy when apologizing to someone, letting them feel they have some control in the situation.

When someone shakes your hand with cold and sweaty hands.

Can be a representation of weak character or a lack of energy used my passive / apathetic people.

Or, more commonly, it's from nervous people. Just some nervous sweating is all. Still kinda gross, though.

Overly AGGRESSIVE personality people tend to use this kind of handshake because it shows confidence and POWER.

The person CRUSHES your BONES and leaves your poor, helpless hand in numbing pain for a bit, maybe.

Is also sometimes used by physically weaker people who aspire to dominate, usually out of feelings of weakness / fear if they don't do it first.

Common is male + female encounters.

Women who desire more personal space will stretch out their hand from a distance, really only letting the other people grab a few fingers.

Yank and Pull

Used by people who feel superior than the other. Like the Queen. There's a reason it's called Queen's Fingertips

Used by more aggressive folk.

Main purpose is to keep you at a distance and away from their personal space.

They may feel threatened or something of that nature.

The person will usually lean forward and maybe if they're desperate enough, balance on one foot to keep you as Far Away As Possible.

Considered "Power play" as the person decides to grab your arm and pull you closer into their personal space.

Not a good hand shake partner who tends to do the Keep Back one.

3 main reasons for this:

Come from somewhere where they're used to being close.

Take control and get you off balance.

Feeling insecure and wants you closer to them for comfort and safety.

Those 3 reasons can be considered MANIPULATIVE. Watch out.
