Public Law:
Public law
is when it affects society as a whole, with that everyone has an interest in the outcome.

It deals with the actions of government or it deals with crime in the community.

There is criminal law that imposes punishment for illegal actions.

Criminal law cases include theft, assault and murder

Types of public law are administrative and constitutional law.

Administrative law deals with actions of the government, whilst constitutional law deals with the law-making powers of parliaments
Private Law:
Private law
deals with disputes between individuals.

Private law is also known as civil law.
•
Civil law cases include work disputes, divorces, shopper's rights and deals with disputes between individuals.

Another form of private law is ecclesiastical or church law and mercantile or trading law.
