Career Hub training
13 November 2017
Merging employers
Career Hub Central accounts
Yes you can merge local account into CHC but you will loose the org level information.
Can add local contacts. Won't be lost if Career Hub deactivate them.
could potentially loose advertisements from local account when merging into??
Workflows
(Emerging leaders would be ideal to use this)
Associations work nicely with this at the top level for reporting
Workflows enable you to put a program or sequence of actions for students to take in a particular order
Add label to a resource or event etc. to add to the workgroup
Gives you a dashboard in the background
Use forms for tracking reflection
Create a flowchart to help build the process that maps the steps
Form submission status
gives the administrator privelages to accept/reject student submission to a form
default/pending/void submission statuses
Default submission status in the form builder at the top. This is where you change it. Set to Pending for it to view in the Pending tasks of the workflow dashboard.
Pending tasks - things that an administrator has to complete - like alerts but won't show in the alerts queue
AUT Edge Award is a good example of how it's set up
Career Hub Central
Being reviewed
Career Service Manager will combine with the distribution networks - i.e. CHC adverts will distribute to non career hub systems
Workgroups
Workgroup vs label
Label - just a text tag doesn't lock down
Workgroup creates a contextual space to cohabit in - outside of this group, people cant view
Events and Workshops
New interface and system dashboard
Currently in Beta
Event types
customised reminder emails, images, description etc. for "Resume Workshops"
Will create templates for events so you don't have to add all the details every time
Has a dashboard for bookings and available places
Venues, can populate a list of buildings in the system
Filters
Ability to control who can access events
e.g. filter that checks for first year students. Instead of having to create a workgroup
Ability to add cover images to an event
If we use labels on events then we should wait until new year before activating. Career Hub hasn't developed adding labels in the new system
"Activities"
Admin can create a bank of activities
Can configure skills that students can assign to the activities they undertake
Skills
Added to events, workshops, activities, jobs etc.
can add to the different engagement points in the system to track where student is developing their employability skills.
Will eventually lead to students being able to reflect on their skills and record in the system
Will be able to assess gaps in skill set
Claimable and reflect-able skills
student and admin will have a dashboard of the student
e.g. Employer lists a job with specific skills listed. Student will be able to assess their own skill gap.
e.g. Event can have "related skills" attached. Student can click on the related skills they want to develop and it will list everything in the system that has a skill attached.
