Physical evidence of quality must be added to the intangible service

Service providers also need have to realize that the service provider(people/staff) cannot be separated from the service itself. That is why it becomes important that in order to market a service successfully, the quality of the people(staff) providing the service must be outstanding

It is not only the people providing the service that is important but also the processes that are associated with the service( e.g. the process of time table, reporting, organizing sport and cultural activities)

For businesses that sell an intangible service it is important to have a good physical evidence of what they do

Physical evidence can be the actual building, furniture, equipment e.t.c and it can be recommendations online from other users of the service

E.g. Missing Link: quirky and interesting offices and they recently featured on Top Billing which has drawn a lot of attention to the business

The processes that the business has to go through are very important in how they market their product and services e.g. A certain process must be followed when receiving a complaint

Processes need to be worked out and taught to employees to ensure excellent service delivery

Processes can also form part of marketing when it strengthens a brand or business e.g, Ned bank have an "Ask once" policy where if you have to ask them something more than once(like to increase your credit limit) they will pay R50 to a charity of your choice

People are very important to the services that are offered

Essential to train staff to have the skills they need to do their job, but it is equally important to develop a culture of friendliness, efficiency and service delivery.

Happy staff members often lead to better business results. E.G Google have built an amazing head office with gyms, food courts, nap rooms, yoga classes, etc. in order to keep their staff happy and productive
