Equality Evaluation
Gender Neutral Language
In language when referring to gender neutral things, a masculine form is often used e.g. mankind, and humanity
Importance - language is a way of expressing ourselves. By opening a language up to be inclusive we are opening up the expression of society to the spectrum of gender
Opposition Masculine terms are seen as gender neutral already as they are meant to refer to all, therefore there is no need for change

-
Secular
Strengths
-
-
Secularism can be seen as more inclusive as it's not obstructed by problems of what relgion you belong to
-
Weaknesses
-
Ethical equality is at the expense of personal liberty. People are not free to gain wealth if they strive for equality
Society is still unequal therefore secular models of equality such as government and justice have failed
Religion
Strengths
Religious states that their theory of ethics is universal and it still works even if you aren't religious
-
-
-
Weaknesses
Religion may be equal in writing, the practical religous attitudes and and organisations are often not
Central religious texts and authority needs to be reinterpreted in the light of developing cultural differences
Religous models of gender roles need to be updated to concur with modern ideologies such as feminism
Leadership doesn't speak out or fight against global inequality enough as global poverty and racism are arguably worse than ever
