Managing Injuries in School

REMOVE student from play
apply ICE till numb (not directly to skin)
COMPRESS with elastic bandage
(provide stability)
ELEVATE - offload ankle
Assess after 20-30 mins of RICE
Ask students to stand with 2 legs
Check for instability
Send hospital if unable
Ask student to stand with 1 leg
Check for instability
Ask student to hop with 1 leg
Check for instability
Send hospital if unable
Continue RICE
Send hospital if unable
Muscle-tendon strains (Muscle pull)
Stopping the bleeding is vital
REMOVE from PE
