Cosmological argument
Imagine the world is like a chain of constantly falling dominoes. We can achieve knowledge if we understand what causes it to change.
The whole chain of cause began with the Big Bang. But what caused the Big Bang? We will always be asking '.....but what caused that?' even if we offer a physical explanation.
Everything is explained by the 4 causes: Material, efficient, formal and final cause.
However, we cannot go back indefinitely otherwise there would be no start, meaning nothing could be created.
4 causes pen example: Material- Ink, plastic and metal. Efficient- Pen factory. Formal- The rollerball touches the paper and dispenses ink. Final- To write with.
Nothing comes from nothing- Aristotle. Something has to have happened to cause something else to happen. If you start with nothing, you will end up with nothing.
There must a first mover, which is the 'uncaused, cause'. God's very existence caused the motion and God didn't act on the physical universe because 'it's' not physical.
