Music: The music displays a crescendo (music slowly growing louder), getting the audience a bit worried because of the volume, which is normally used for dangerous situations
Narrative Elements: This explains what is happening so the audience isn't confused on why there is a mountain.
Birds Eye View: This technique is used to give the audience a full vision of what the mountains look like from above, giving the audience the ability to see how steep and treacherous the climb is.
Music: This makes the audience excited yet scared for what is going to happen later on, due to the quick beats.
Setting: There is a lot of fog and cloudy weather, this effect taken note by the director to create a mysterious and adventure-y theme because clouds- you can't see through them very well, displaying a sort of mystery.
Birds Eye View: This technique is used to give the audience a full vision of what the mountains look like from above, giving the audience the ability to see how steep and treacherous the climb is. This effect is created by, I believe, a camera held from a helicopter, which makes the audience feel as if they were right there with Joe
Sound Effects: Wind sound effects are used to make the audience feel like they are up in the clouds surrounded by the mountains, just like the documentary.

Narrative Elements: The narrator (Joe) is giving us his thoughts on his journey and adventure to lure the audience in by giving us insight, also explaining what is happening to confused audience members.
Close up: Joe is being interviewed with a close up on his face. Making everything focused towards what Joe is saying. There is nothing else in sight.
Close up: Adds dramatic effect by using a main sound, and making everything else quiet, solely focusing on the hard sound of ice.
Sound Effects: Heavy breathing, crackling snow and ice are used to create tension in the documentary, for example, the heavy breathing is at high volume to make sure the audience knows that Joe and his friends are out of breath and this is a tiring climb.
