Environmental
Derelict land: Land that has been neglected, often in Bristol the factories which was a key part of the industrial revolution have become derelict and abandoned as they are no longer needed.
Social Inequality
Inner-city- Filwood:
This area has low income households and over 1300 crimes are commited per year. And the life expectancy is only 78.
Suburbs-Stoke Bishop:
This area has a life expectancy of 83 years and there is a 3% unemployment rate also less than 300 crimes are commited per year.

Urban Growth/Sprawl
Growing population:
Bristol is an attractive city for people searching for a home and therefore the popultaion is rapidly growing. In 1955, 43 families per week were moving into brand new homes.
Loss of housing:
There has been a demolishion of old slums and also during the second world war Bristol was heavily bombed creating the need for more house. In WW2 over 3200 houses wee lost and 1800 were badly damaged.

Leisure:
Bristol has two local football teams, a rugby team and cricket teams.All these teams are planning to upgrade their training ground and stadiums to provide conference centeres and accommodation.
Shopping:
Cablt circus is a new shopping centre that opened in 2008 costing £500 million. Shopsand leisure facilities take up two thirds of the floor space. There is also a cinema, lffices, a hotel and 250 apartments.
Bristol's harbour side: The harbour side is being converted into bars and nightclubs and cultural benues including an art gallery and a museum.

Derelict land or Brown Field sites reused:
Redevelopment on derielict sites like factories has made the city more attractive, for example, redevolping old warehouses into apartments or offices can increase business and decrease homelessness. An example of this is in Finzels Reach.
Urban Greening: Ther are 8 nature reserves and over 300 parks in the city. This is part of the urban greening program. It plans to have 27% of the city as a wildlife network and 30% to be covered by trees.
Integrated Transport:
In 2012 Bristol was the second most congested city in the UK and on average a journey time took 31% longer during rush hour. Currently, Bristol has a higher percentage of walkers and cyclist then any other UK city at 57% but it aims to doublei it. Te intergrated transport system aims to link public transport in the city and surrounding areas for a more effiecient shstem.
