Usually the climate is highly varying in deserts, this is because rain is uncommon and irregular. Some deserts can go for years without any rain
Deserts are so hot and dry because of the layout of Hadley's cells. Where air is sinking, it warms and any moisture evaporates so the sky s left clear with no clouds. This is why there's little and irregular rain. It's hot all year because the clear skies allow the Sun's rays to hit the Earth's surface and heat it up quickly
